A partner of mine used to have in his office a copy of the book The Visual Display of Quantitative Information. The Visual Display of Quantitative Information. This book is about how to display quantitative information effectively, it is divided in two parts: Graphical Practice and Theory of Data Graphics. I'm using one of my favorite data sets today to explore a particular challenge: How do you clearly illustrate meaning in data that don't have intrinsic meaning? Tufte's "The Visual Display of Quantitative Information". Each book adds new examples and new perspectives on visual presentations. Edward Tufte lays out a very comprehensive study of how to effectively display information in a visual format. Although they are all very interesting and full of great stuff, I like the first book, The Visual Display of Quantitative Information, the best. His basic book, The Visual Display of Quantitative Information, was first published in the early 1980s. €�A visual Strunk and White” (The Boston Globe). A while ago I attended one of Tufte's all day seminars and got copies of all his books. Edward Tufte, The Visual Display of Quantitative Information. In addition to dealing with information overload, Prof. Edward Tufte, a pioneer in data visualization, wrote a series of books –Visual Explanations, The Visual Display of Quantitative Information, and Envisioning Information– on the subject of information graphics. This weekend I finally read Edward Tufte's The Visual Display of Quantitative Information(1983). Tufte teaches the fundamentals of graphics, charts, maps and tables.
